My Favorite Calorie Burning Low Impact Exercises
When I Injured my calf muscle it got me searching for low impact exercises that burn calories.
I rely on exercise to keep my stress and anxiety in check because without it, I become a nervous wreck.
So, I look for full body exercises that work all the major muscles and joints for more calorie burning, strength building, and full range of motion in the joints.
Here are 11 fat burning, low impact exercises that are easy on the joints.
- Yoga – class, video
- Pilates – class, video
- Tai Chi – class, video
- Swimming – pool
- Water aerobics – pool
- Rowing – outdoor or gym
- Paddle Boarding – outdoors, lake, ocean, river

There’s not just one way to get exercise and the benefits far exceed the drawbacks.

Exercise reduces stress, depression and anxiety, reduces risk of heart disease, increases bone density, makes ADL easier, and, of course, burns calories to help lose weight, among a never ending list of other benefits.
If you know someone who needs to hear this stuff, share it with them. A lot of people just need the encouragement and having a partner to hold them accountable goes a very long way. Maybe you could commit to one of your workouts with this person you care about just to help get them kicked off.
