I am Jenna Serrano, owner and founder of Bold and Beyond Fitness – an online coaching company for driven females. I created Bold and Beyond after spending 10 years in the corporate insurance and elevator industries. I worked in marketing, sales, and management. I spent a lot of time on the road traveling seeing customers, employees, and for training mostly across Texas and the East Coast. I LOVE traveling and meeting new people.
I worked for State Farm Insurance as my first job out of college (Texas Tech). I worked as a personal lines insurance sales rep in Dallas, Texas for a couple years and then moved into a marketing and event coordinator role for State Farm in Austin, Texas for another couple years.
My husband and I moved to Houston, Texas when I took up a sales position selling elevator maintenance contracts for Otis Elevator company. After getting a couple years of sales experience (and doing very well) I was promoted to a remote sales position in South Texas taking care of the Rio Grande Valley, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Del Rio, all the way up to San Antonio over to Victoria. I also served in a few other roles for Otis, but by far, enjoyed my time as a remote traveling sales rep the most. I LOVE the hustle and traveling.
I was on the road every week traveling from one city to the next. Always on the go. Negotiating million dollar contracts. This is when it became a priority for me to stay in shape. I had to stay fit because I needed to be able to get to where I needed to go, physically, mentally, and professionally!
I started honing in on my health and fitness habits, recording, documenting, and publicizing because not only did I love the results I was getting for myself, but I also recognized a business opportunity in helping women get and stay in shape while juggling super busy lifestyles like mine. I work full time, volunteer many hours a week as Secretary of GREEN Wildlife Center, a non-profit wildlife preserve in South Texas, and, what can I say, I am a social butterfly. I LOVE to network and mingle. I worked for Otis for another couple years before I jumped ship to pursue my venture.
When I learned how to eat and exercise for good health, I was able to perform better, not only in my workouts, but also in my career and volunteer work. I became more focused and had more energy. I started enjoying my new healthy routine so much I couldn’t NOT share this with other hard-working, driven, intelligent women. This was the beginning of my path to entrepreneurship.
I actually really enjoyed working in my lucrative (and promising) career in the elevator industry but felt called to help women with their health and fitness. There are not a lot of females “at the top” in the corporate world. I set out to help smart working women to use healthy habits to achieve confidence in their minds and bodies, to help them overcome obstacles that can be solved and managed naturally through wellness and fitness.
I juggled the creation, manifestation, and the beginnings of Bold and Beyond while working in the elevator trade for a few years. There was a point when my heart just wasn’t willing to share space for elevators with creating and building my business anymore.
I still “work” 14-16 hour days by choice. I wake up thinking about how I plan to impact lives today. How I can inspire women to take advantage of moving their bodies. How I can inspire women to gradually replace toxic foods and drinks with healthful, naturally energizing ones. How I can inspire women to LOVE themselves and achieve their professional and personal goals.
Today I help high-achieving women, get into the health and shape of their lives while continuing to keep pace with and excel in their careers, and even connect with their passions that sometimes lead to career path changes (like me).
I do what I love and I love what I do. Health and fitness is what brought me to this business.
Here are some things that have changed for me and my clients since implementing healthy lifestyle strategies:

I still party! I do! I still enjoy alcohol, fried food, chips, chocolate, cookies, and cake. I just don’t care to have them when the occasion doesn’t really call for it. When I do have alcohol, it’s for celebrating – usually on the weekends, sometimes on occasion during the week.
I don’t say “no” to birthday cake, homemade cookies, or homemade banana bread from a coworker. But I don’t go out of my way to buy that stuff when it’s not a special occasion. When I crave something sweet, I eat (and drink) healthy sweet things, like fruit, chocolate tea, or eat a square of 90% cacao dark chocolate or make a protein shake, smoothie, or chia seed pudding.
Now, I do sometimes get a wild hair and eat dessert first. Going to a legit restaurant that has amazing desserts seems too good to pass up, especially after a good workout day. 😉 Who am I kidding. Eating in a restaurant these days, for me at least, is a special occasion.
I don’t really care for pizza 🍕 anymore. When you pay attention to what you eat, you recognize how your body feels and reacts to different things. When I eat pizza, it clogs me up. And I get irritated 😠 when I don’t go. So if I’m gonna eat pizza, it’s gonna be some kind of special pie with flavor combos I’ve never had. Or a friend invited me over and that’s what’s for dinner (I’m always grateful to eat.) But again, I’m not going to go out of my way to eat something unhealthy when I know I can eat something just as affordable that makes me feel good.
My point about the alcohol, sweets, and pizza is that they’re not healthy. But, they are a part of our culture and celebrations. To cut them out completely would be denying our culture (in a sense) but indulging more frequently can lead to health symptoms and issues that are difficult to reverse later.
These are just a FEW of the MANY examples of lifestyle changes that I have adopted that have helped me achieve more mental focus, clarity, and energy that’s important to ME because I am driven to make an Impact in this world. I don’t feel like I’m giving it my best shot when I’m brain fogged, irritated, or depressed. So I consciously make purposeful choices – especially when it comes to food so that I can feel my best to do my best.
My healthy lifestyle strategies are long-term lifestyle habits that:
- Get rid of guilt, stress, and anxiety around food
- Prevent sacrificing social indulgences
- Make you FEEL GOOD from the inside out, NATURALLY
If you’re looking for a long term solution to:
