Here is my “1-2-3 Weekend Detox Smoothie”
When I think Detox I think Green. Green fruits and vegetables make a hell-of-a hangover cure especially when concentrated into an elixir.
This recipe is awesome because of its simplicity.
It’s just straight up green fruits, veggies, and water.
- 1 Water
- 2 servings of green fruit
- 3 servings of green vegetables
For the fruit, choose green fruits like green apple, honeydew melon, green grapes, etc. Fruit is naturally sweet so you don’t have to add sugar or artificial sweetener to your blended beverage. Choose 2 fruits or two cups of one fruit. Your choice.
For the vegetables, choose green ones like celery, lettuce (as long as it’s green you’re good to go), spinach, cilantro, parsley. I’d like to highlight parsley as an especially potent detoxer. It is delicious and extremely healthy. You can use the whole bunch (just make sure to clean it really well).
Add water to cover the fruit and vegetables. Blend. Drink. Boom.
You can feel the difference immediately.
Detoxing gets a bad wrap. When you hear the word Detox, what’s the immediate next word you think of? Diarrhea? Poop? Colon cleanse? Not all detox makes your bowels explode. At least if they do, they’re getting all the bad CRAP, literally, out of your system.
When you remove the toxins from your body, you can think more clearly, you release water weight, your skin clears up, you lose fat, you can cure headaches, etc.
In the toxic world we live in, it’s important to remove them from your body as often as possible to prevent build up which can rear its ugly head in many ways.
My 1-2-3 detox smoothy is an easy, simple ingredient way to get some heavy hitting nutrition in your body to knock out the bull sh!t. So try it! And let me know what you think.
