Looking to Get Better Results? Do These Things.
Whether you’re starting something new; diet, workout, or success in business increase these 1, 2 or all 3 of these things, and you’ll find better results.
- Frequency
- Intensity
- Duration
Frequency
Frequency refers to how often you’re repeating a habit. The more often you do something, the more practice you get, the better you become at performing the activity, and the more confident you become doing it. If you want to get better results, perform the activities you need to reach your goal more often.
For Example
Let’s say you just started walking 2 times per week with a friend on lunch to get some exercise. After 1 month, you notice your pants button a little easier. You have a proven result based on increasing your walking frequency during lunch from Zero to 2 times per week. If you add 1 or 2 more days to your walking routine, you could as much as double your results and progress.
Frequency can also be looked at in terms of multiplying your chances for success. In marketing and sales, for instance, you’re more likely to close more sales if you increase the number of contacts you make. How frequently (ex, how many days per week) are you making phone calls, in person contacts, emailing mg, etc? If you increase your frequency, can you get better results? The answer is most likely, yes!
Intensity
You can look at increasing intensity as increasing your heart rate during exercise or increasing the value you provide in business.
So going back to the walking example, if you pick up the pace a little to the point where it’s difficult to talk, you’ll burn more calories than if you can hold a conversation easily. Increasing the intensity, your heart rate, will increase your calories burned, fat burned, weight loss.
What makes your favorite restaurant your favorite? The food, the ambiance, and the price. The value is what hs you coming back again and again. It’s intense! The more intensity/value you bring to the table, the better results.
Duration
Duration is how long an activity is performed.
Again, referring to the walking example, if you’re walking in 20 minute sessions, increase your duration to 30 or 40 minutes to increase your results.
Duration can be applied to getting better at anything by spending more time on it. Practice makes perfect!
